Voluntary liquidations and contested company winding-up

A company can be wound up on its own application (a voluntary liquidation) or on the application of a third party.

If a third party applies to have the company wound-up the company can defend the application or not, as the directors decide.   If the company does not defend the application then it is uncontested.
