With 30 June coming up we thought we’d offer a few simple rules to save your sanity (but not your tax).

1. Worried about an ATO audit? Avoid what's called a red flag. That's something the ATO always looks for. For example, say you have some money left in your bank account after paying taxes, that's a red flag.

2. People that cheat on their taxes truly disgust me...This is not the world I want to raise my 127 dependents in.

3. Apparently there’s a group of atheists trying to get tax-exempt status on the basis they’re a not-for-prophet organisation.

4. As the depressed accountant said: “It’s accrual world”.
